Re: 750 petrol tank rubbers
,,,have some used ones in my garage, and they measure 41 mm x 16.5 mm. ...and repeat; they are used. .....this could be interpreted as nominally 41x15..... I suppose. Am in the USA, and the bike is a C1 The internal cavity is 20mm diameter x 15mm depth. In North America, even the last version of the...

Re: center stand
The main reason the 550 did not come with center stand was probable the 4 into 1 exhaust. It was more like the "sports bike" of the three Zephyrs....light and nimble. The 750 has two tabs welded on the rear down frame cross member for bolting on the stand. The right tab has a stud for the ...

Re: bad 1100 regulator
We are talking Alternator and Regulator.......but on the 750 you have to include the Rectifier also. The Zeph 750, being a KZ750 air cooled, has one piece Regulator/Rectifier under the tank. One unit, separate from the Alternator on the crank, and rather inexpensive, or easy to replace with generic ...

Re: Dripping carbs
Fuel is fed by gravity and there are two thing stopping engine from flooding when not running: the petcock, and the carbs float needle valves. .....but if you refreshed properly the petcock, then carbs should not flood, even if needle valves leak. Of course carbs can leak through the bowls gasket.,,...

Re: Carb Troubles - Where do these pipes go?
They go nowwhere, ....routed back, then on each side of the air box and then down aiming to the road..in front of rear wheel. If carbs are flooded,..they may spit fuel, thus make sure fuel won't spill on anything....and nothing hot., .....with age they become very hardened and difficult to bend. I r...

Re: magnetic oil drain plug
Have magnetic plug in cars and another newer motorcycle I own, and never seen any debris.
......If those are metal filing, I'd really be concernend.
I remember trying one on 750 and found it had to be real short, as the oil pump intake screen was very close to hole and magnet was interfering.

Re: Help with start up after removing carbs
Your petcock has to have Prime. Otherwise is not stock. Any vacuum petcok has to have means to bypass the vacuum. If you don't have it. GET ONE ..if you are planning keeping this bike and given it proper maintenance. This is very basic. Without it makes carb troubleshooting/maintenance/cold starting...

Re: Help with start up after removing carbs
With a multimeter. You start by reading voltage at battery terminals when running. It should be above 13VDC on idle and go somewhat above 14VDC when rev,d. That would suggest electrics are decent. A stock battery does not produce more than about 12.6VDC.....everything above is produced by the bike e...
