Did you paint the eccentrics gold, or did you get them from a later model Z1000? If you used the Z1000 ones, did you have to modify the axle?
I used gold Z1000 eccentrics on my ZR550, and I had to have the left side of the ZR550 rear axle turned down to fit them.
Looks good.

Re: 17 tooth gearbox sprocket zr550
Well, I bought the bike as a non-running POS, and for whatever reason I thought I'd go up two teeth on the rear sprocket during the rebuild. After getting it on the road and riding it a bit, I decided 1st was too short and basically useless, and it was way too buzzy in sixth at 75mph. So I went up o...

Re: 17 tooth gearbox sprocket zr550
I have a 17 tooth on the front.
Chain barely clears the metal guard behind the cover, but I have yet to have any problems with it.

Have you checked that the pulsing coil and/or rotor on the right side of the engine are working?

Re: 1100 Carb Rubbers tight fit !!
On the 550 I put them on the airbox first. But I also have to take the air filter housing and side covers off the airbox and make sure the airbox is loose in the frame. That way you have some wiggle room. I have to then slide the carbs in above the rubbers, left to right (as you sit on the bike,) an...

Re: The colour purple!
Thanks. Don't know if you would consider it sacrilege, but Honda has a beautiful purplish burgundy called Burgundy Night Pearl that has a great flop in the sun. It's another that looks really dark in the shadows but pops in sunlight. Using paint (and paint codes) off of existing cars and bikes makes...

Re: The colour purple!
One advantage of a black paint job is the bikini faring below would bolt straight on and match if you were interested in such a thing. Pretty inexpensive. Needs a little simple modification to stiffen it up, IMO. I'm about 90% of fitting one to my 750 (a D1 in the standard silver/black colors) and ...
