Re: D1 Problems Running

I would clean the plugs again and take it for a good run. Starting it for a few minutes is not really a good idea. If you are going to run it you need to get it thoroughly up to temp and running without choke. If you're still having problems with sooty plugs, check the Pilot screws, they can vibrate...

Re: 1992 ZR1100 Shocks

I had my 750 shocks refurbished by Brooke suspension. I'm happy enough with them although I only ride 1 up on UK roads (I weigh 12stone). https://www.brooksuspension.co.uk/motorcycle-suspension-tuning/motorcycle-shock-absorber-repairs/ Reasonable quality shocks on a budget would be YSS or Hagon. Wil...

Re: What have you done today, Zephyr-wise?

Some idiot, had fitted the spring & seal in the Master cylinder upside down. So Rear Brake Caliper & Master cylinder rebuilt. Swing arm, Foot rest Holders & Rear Caliper painted. Brakes bled just need to reconnect the Brake light & adjust the chain.

Re: hard ride problem solved

Can't remember the length but they went in with the standard spacer. I've got the original springs in the Hagon box somewhere, i'll dig it out and see if there's any info.

Re: hard ride problem solved

Hi Dave Does your second post mean you have sorted it by using 130mm spacers or that the standard spacers are 130mm. If it is still too stiff Thinner oil may help. The stiffer Hagon springs I have fitted to my D1 are supposed to be used with 7.5 weight oil. The air gap can also makes a difference. A...

Re: Minter 1100 6500 Miles Nearly as good as mine :)

I just liked the way they were trying to link it to Paul Smart. If it was a Ducati he had raced fair enough, but sold by the shop he owned not really going to add value. I'm wondering what will happen as Petrol gets phased out. Will all the blokes with a classic in the shed die out leaving only the ...
