As I am struggling to get good condition collets, could some one please give me the measurements of the collets. Then I can check other manufacturers for collets that may fit.

Wanted 8 exhaust collets in good condition. Bought a used exhaust in not bad condition, but the exhaust on my bike is motad and not original, so the collets are different.

Just looking at the cost of gasket sets and the gt550 or the gpz550 are cheaper than the zr550. Surely the head and base gaskets are the same as well as most of the other gaskets?

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I did have new plugs installed but the old plugs looked okay. I cannot remember the exhaust temperatures, but they were about 80°c on the cool cylinder and about 120°c on the others. As I've said this bike is in Crete, so no more information can be asked until I go back in...

Does anyone know if the zr750 exhaust pipes are the same diameter as the zr550? Need newer exhausts on my zr550, so my plan is to get zr750 exhausts and cut off the silencer and weld my zr550 exhaust on. Any problems? Mainly because zr750 exhausts are soooo much cheaper.

Will any other exhaust fit? Gpz550 or any other Kawasaki 4 - 1.

I want to up the gearing to get more mph per rev, as I find the std gearing is a bit low. When travelling at medium speeds I feel as if the bike could do with another gear.

My main reason for looking to up the gearing is that the 550 is a rev happy bike and while in 6th I'm still looking for another gear. So I thought gearing up and lowering the revs might help.
