Re: Wandering idle...
Hi mate, sorry to read about your problems.. starting issues and intermittent idling and running.. dirty carbs and fuel is the obvious place to start, but there are other things worth looking at.. how are the spark plugs? I think someone mentioned the carb rubbers, they can be an issue.. air filter?...

Re: cam chain tensioner
As standard, it's kawasakis' notorious automatic tensioner.. designed to replace the manual job on the KZ engine. It's so unreliable many folks swap them back to the old design. If you've got access to a machine shop, it's easy enough to make your own. There are people making them to sell as a side ...

Re: carb rubbers to air box pain in the arse
Horrible job.. yes,you can gain a tiny amount of wiggle room by loosening the airbox,it helps but not much. one thing I've tried is to push the rubbers back into the airbox first, fit the carbs, and then wiggle the rubbers back through and onto the carbs, with one hand inside the airbox. Another metho...

Re: 1100 fuel tank overflow ?
Hi mate, only just seen your post. I've got a '93 1100 which has recently had some work on the tank, so it's reasonably fresh in my mind. That pipe is the breather rather than an overflow as such. If you stick a mirror or camera in through the filler, you should be able to see a pipe running to the ...

Re: Throttle cable alternative
Hi Kenny, I don't know which cables would fit off the shelf, but have you thought of making your own, or having one made to your specification? There are companies out there who can supply Bowden cable inners and outers by the roll, or length, or will make them up for you. Also, if the throttle cabl...

Love it especially that bit about the 250N, which is the reason I've never owned a Honda. Pearl Harbour is one thing, the Superdream is another....!

Quick hello
Hi folks, my 1100 is close to being back on the road, which has prompted me to rejoin the zone. She's been my workhorse for a few years now, but has been standing idle for the last 18 months. Not a shiny example, I ride them until they stop working, then fix them, and hammer them back into the groun...
