Re: d1 front sprocket torque values
Decided to add the latest version of Zephyr 750 Factory Service Manual to my collection. Part number for manual is 99924-1138-03. Printed in 1997. It arrived today. And guess what? Just as I expected, it states 125 Nm for the front sprocket nut. Haynes manual was printed in 2000. So now we all know ...

Re: 1100 B1 Newby
Progress been a bit slow but done a bit of research and managed to identify and buy replacement seals for my rear shocks so they’re all refinished in gloss black powder and the gold I used for the calipers. Polished the aluminium bits and made some new damper selector knobs in brass because one of ...

Re: First gear 'CLUNK'
My tutorial of clutch basket damper replacement. Did it to the KZ650 clutch basket, but it's all the same with Zephyr 750 (however KZ650 has no gasket under the riveted cover).

Re: d1 front sprocket torque values
I have a 750 C1, and have a Kawasaki factory manual, and also a Haynes covering the 750/550 w/out saying years. Yes, the Kawasaki manuals says it is 98 NM or 75ft-lbs for the front sprocket nut. The Haynes says it is 125 NM or 92 lb ft. Personally, I think is a mistake. Don't see any reason as to w...

Re: Zr 550 stator cover oil leak
I’m thinking of taking existing seal out and trying to drive this style seal in but thy to get one the wider ( depth ) To me it sounds like you are about to wreck your engine. Crankshaft seals are quite specific and the only proper way to replace them is to split crankcase and install new OEM parts...

Re: Zephyr import - help needed...
Looks like I have an answer. However let it be a short story:-) We here, in Ukraine, still have a lot of bikes that were imported from Japan and were intended for Japanese market. In 00s we had a law that forbade import of vehicles older then 9 years (as far as I remember). And for some reason it wa...

Re: Zephyr import - help needed...
Tank badges are identical to badges of my 1991 Zephyr 750 which was made for internal Japanese market. I assume it might be indicator of "Japanese " Zephyrs. Another feature of these bikes is speedometer that marked only to 190km/h as "Japanese " Zephyrs have built-in speed limit...

Re: Exhaust choice
Yep, this was pilot bike of my project Zephyr 750 cafe-racer kit. The idea was to make conversion kit that needs no frame modification.Gazza's photo, looks very nice and suits your bike. did you do all the work yourself? david

Re: Exhaust choice
Question: As the black and red lines virtually overlay each other till the very upper rev range why is 'rejetting definately needed'? Also, any factory specification I've every seen for a 750 has max hp (either engine or rear wheel) around the 9400 rpm mark. Why is it falling away at less than 8000...
