Re: Help with start up after removing carbs
Plugs are dry you mention, that's weird as if you have no ignition and mixture is getting into the cylinder they should be wet... Anyway, I had exactly the same issue a while back after wintertime, I prepped the carbs as normal but no starting whatsoever. To make a long story short, the carbs were f...

Re: airbox to carb ducts
Why replace them with a rubber hose or something? I would keep the original ones or buy new ones (still available at selected vendors). I replaced mine because they weren't pliable anymore and fitting them back became a dreadful finger hurting excercise. The new ones were much more easy to install. ...

Re: What have you done today, Zephyr-wise?
Went to a family birthday party yesterday on non-highway roads, was a lovely ride of some 140km, bit chilly in the evening though
Starting her up is still an issue, fires on two cilinders for a minute or so, no clue why yet...

Good to see you're on to something and great video's as I expected. I still wonder how one can install the shaft incorrectly  , I can't remember doing anything special when installing it, I mean hightwise there's nothing to adjust is there? But perhaps I'm missing the point and good to see you...

Re: resistor plugs
Any special reason you want to do this for? Our iginition hasn't been developed for this type of plug and you probably will end up with a less powerfull spark as part of the energy is absorbed by the resistor. It will do no real harm though but if your engine will run the same is another question. S...

Re: Fish's 1992 750C Engine Rebuild and Other Goodies
I am going to cut a hole in my clutch cover that already has a hole in it from the damage so I can see if the rod is being pushed during actuation. Of course, I can't run it this way, but it might give me insight into the issue. If I can physically see the rod being pushed at angle rather than pull...

Re: Fish's 1992 750C Engine Rebuild and Other Goodies
I think the rod is somehow spinning even whith the bearing, that's obviously not good. So what could cause this behaviour I wonder... Is the rod maybe pulled sideways somehow so friction is causing the spinning? It's a lot of work but I would try the same test but this time make sure the rod is very...

I just wonder, should the clutch rod still rotate when engaged? It seems to be rotating looking at the damage...
I would need to see for myself (my own engine I mean), it''s too long ago since I've been working on my clutch

Re: Has The Zephyr Zone passed its sell by date?
For this to work one would need a lot more active members, regretfully we don't have that. But at the same time I don't think the owner needs to pay for it all. Just let us know when it's time and I will donate a few bucks, no problem.

If you want to get a feel for just how much twist a fork brace takes out of a conventional suspension. Stand in front of the bike supporting it upright by the bars, with the front wheel locked solid between your knees. Push the bars back and forth trying to prevent ANY movement of the front wheel w...
