Re: Starter Clutch Replacement
Sorry you are letting go. and I assume you are talking about the 750/550 on this subject. The 1100 is an entirely different kind of animal. Like I said, this job does not require engine out, perfectly doable with it in the frame, but you if are into taking engine out is by choice....other than the ...

Re: Starter Clutch Replacement
Thanks Hugo, I really appreciate the info. I'm on the verge of selling all of my bikes due to age and I just want them to be right before passing them on. Is there anything that would be best to remove before taking the engine out of the frame? I'm gonna go with taking the motor out so that I can cl...

Starter Clutch Replacement
Anyone done it? I believe it can be done with the engine in the frame but that it would be a damn sight easier if I took the lump out. Your thoughts would be appreciated. I have done it previously on old Honda fours before but never a Kwak.

Re: Strange problem with misfiring
Hi Pete, definitely jealousy! Have you had a voltmeter on the coils? Its in the Haynes manual on how to check them, elecktrickery testing is something I only do with a manual because otherwise I'd probably lose a few body parts. If the HT leads and plug caps are old I'd replace them anyway, same wit...

Re: Hi all from Cheshire England
Hi Spannerman and welcome aboard, I'm in Derby. Excellent point Freddy, that is why Fleabay is full of unfinished projects, they get taken apart then the owners seem to lose interest or find some problem that they think will cost too much to fix. The thing I don't understand is when some people deci...

Re: Use of choke
Hi guy's, mine starts fine if used regular but this time of year in the UK that is highly unlikely. Anything longer than a week lay up and she just doesn't want to start unless I get the exact sweet spot on the choke which is about 2/3rds closed without touching the throttle and the tap on Prime. Ev...

Re: What gear should I be in? n00b rider question.
hi freddy .ah the good old days yes you had to be involved with all the moving parts up front and even now so many years on there is something that excites us about that connection and a person would not ride a bike if changeing gear was a pain or a chore ,david David, sometimes changing gear on my...
