Re: Hello from New Jersey,USA

My take is the designers set the jetting on the lean side for emissions reasons. As the 2 inner cylinders run hotter they can't go as lean as the outer cylinders.

Re: E10 petrol

E10 isn't really compliant with anything fitted with a carburetor. It'll run, but certainly not as well as on the fuel for which the carburetor was jetted, because the inclusion of E10 has changed the air-fuel ratio. There are no oxygen molecules in pure gasoline (C5H12 to C7H16). Ethanol is C2H5OH

Re: moriwaki exhaust?

Does any modern race bike run a 4:1 exhaust? Even Eddie Lawson would eventually abandoned a 4:1 for a 4:2:1 some 40 years ago on his Kawasaki muscle bike. The last thing you want is a bloody great pipe diameter change where the 4 pipes go into a single collector. Just creates massive return pressur...

Re: moriwaki exhaust?

I read your post Freddy and agree but pipe design probably gets around this I have run a 4:1 on my 750 and have done so on track days as well as weekend warrior rides. It is a race pipe - so no baffle - and have had not trouble with bog down. Does any modern race bike run a 4:1 exhaust? Even Eddie ...

Re: Help me fix my side stand?

Thanks for that. I certainly had that thought, that maybe a little slop in it was normal and expected. I guess I’m just looking at the way it’s made, a tab with a hole, a stand with a “fork,” and a bolt with an OD that is presumably the same size as the hole’s ID, and I’m think that means it should...

Re: Help me fix my side stand?

I've been following this thread thinking .... are you trying to fix something that isn't actually broken. In your pictures in the first post, I have to admit I can't actually see any obvious out of roundness wear in any of the components. It may be there, but I just can't see it. So .... aware that ...

Motorcycle protective gear

Young bloke on a motorcycle pulls up beside me at the lights (I'm in the car). Wearing shorts, light shirt, sand-shoes, gloves, open face helmet ..... and to make sure he was REALLY safe, wearing a cheap surgical mask (bit of covid hysteria running around Sydney at present). He wasn't a food deliver...

Re: Richard's ZR750C1 Restoration Project

by now I added almost 6 liter in total. For sure the diff can't be only related to the cooler circuit. Crossing my fingers nothing wrong is going on... [/attachment] 6 liters can't be right. Don't take offence at this possibly dumb question (its the only possibility I can think of) .... you are che...

Re: Richard's ZR750C1 Restoration Project

Regarding the tires, no doubt you're most likely aware of this, but just in case..... disregard the recommended tyre pressures that may be in the owners manual, workshop manual, or listed on tire manufacturers websites. These are the original pressures for the bias ply tires that the bike originally...

Re: Richard's ZR750C1 Restoration Project

Maybe this is the answer or at least it seems not to be unique to my bike, did a search on this forum and found this from Freddy (obviously). I still wonder where the oil goes though... oil-level-after-refreshing-it.JPG @Freddy, did you ever find the reason for this? Nope. All I can do is assume is...
