Re: Help with start up after removing carbs
No offense, but it is very confusing how you write. Apparently, you call 'turn-over' catching and running on its own. I understand 'turn-over' as just cranking or moving by hand. Don't see why you have to suck vacuum into the petcock. Put it on prime, fuel should flow freely, and vacuum is out of th...

Re: 550 suspension and tyres set up
Fork oil is 10W20....fork oil that is....the Manual says. Remember you have to check the level. I do my seals with a fork seal driver which makes it easier, but it is a little expensive. (you might use something homemade) You can switch to progessive springs, but then have to change the spacer on to...

Re: barn find in the USA
It is not written on concrete. Factory settings are about 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 turns out, but they are not set for best mix, instead just enough to pass emissions. At the end you are the one who will decide when it feels right for you.

Re: center stand
Maybe I don't understand your question. I thought you were talking about the rubber damper on the bottom of left exhaust can, against which the center stand foot extension comes to rest IN THE UP POSITION. Keeping the clearance with chain and exhaust. That would be part 92075-1002. If not, I don't u...

Re: center stand
Have a 750, so won't post a picture but......Over 15 years ago, I took a thick rubber cap which found lying around, glued it to the bottom of rubber stop, and is still there giving about 12mm (1/2 inch) extra clearance. I thought would mention it if useful, otherwise, ignore it.

Re: Has The Zephyr Zone passed its sell by date?
I believe your gesture of paying another year is absolutely great...thought you would call it quits any moment........but personally, don't see much future or valid reason to continue. ,,,,,,,,,Zephyrs never sold well, and I presume some are getting too old, and/or owners are getting older and movin...

Re: Hello from New Jersey,USA
What I said about the inner carbs and air intake, is not my take.. I have to say that. Did not come from me. I really don't know. I did not do any research.. Am simply repeating what the research labs of the companies selling the so called 'performance jet kits', like Factory Pro and DinoJet say for...

Re: Hello from New Jersey,USA
It is normal in in-line 4 cyl engine to have slightly different jettings in the outboard carbs than the inboard ones. The reason is the air intake is shorter and straighter to the inboard carbs. Manufacturers did this to keep engines as lean as possible to pass emissions. These bikes are so old than...

Re: Back in the Zone and Out of Storage
Clone, I remember you from back in the days when we were 'young...er'. Seen a couple of your posts in other forum, so I knew you were still alive. I still have Zephyr I own with original engine running well, but am curious, ....so I'll ask a very personal question. Would you mind elaborating how you...
