Re: d1 front sprocket torque values

Hello, Personally I would always go with the factory manual, if they don't know who does! Haynes are good but i have come across inaccurate info before on other bikes. I know what you mean about the nut, i had to borrow a monster air gun to get mine off my 1100, i think they do have a self tightenin...

Re: New member

Hello,
Lovely 1100 you have there, I'm not sure if I'm reading your message right, but are you looking for a KMH speedo? If so I think i might have one spare somewhere, I'll let you know

Re: 1100 B1 Newby

Brilliant job, clocks look ace. I must admit i chickened out doing my Z clock's because of the crimped rings and the speedo needle needed new damping oil plus being such a key part to the look of a Zed i thought I'd best let someone else do them! Be nice to see a pic of that one finished, Cheers eddie

Re: engine oil

I've always used Silkolene 10/40w semi synthetic in my 1100, a good all round oil for the British climate. Don't use car oil in a bike, a car has a dry clutch and a separate gearbox with it's own special oil separate from engine oil, so a cars oil only has to lubricate the engine. A motorcycle engin...

Re: 1100 B1 Newby

Hi Dave, Yes it's a Z1a paint scheme in candy Green which like yours looks great in the sun and the stripes are painted on and lacquered so it's smooth all over. I did think about doing the gold and white stripes on the Zephyr but left it in the end. The zephyr seat i raised by glueing some thin rub...

Re: 1100 B1 Newby

Hi Dave, Lovely job on those carbs, at least i know who to send mine to if i can't get it running right!! Paintjob looks stunning too, did your side panels have the typical 1100 split in them where they go over the frame tube? I only ask as both mine did and part of the problem is that the seat push...

Re: 1100 B1 Newby

Bike is looking great, frame looks good in black, personally i would do the footrests and engine plates black too, there's plenty of polished alloy already on a Zephyr but each to their own. Look forward to some wheel pics, are you doing the hubs Black, I've only ever seen silver but might look good...

Re: 1100 B1 Newby

Well done on getting a set of pipes reserved, it will be an agonising wait but all good things....

Rim looks good, but are you tempted to have some wider 17" rims laced on, would look nice and give better tyre choices?
