Re: Spares on Hand

In general Japanese bikes are well built (because of highest factory automation), and durable, if not trashed. All parts they use seem to have also very good quality. You may say Ebay is mostly junk, but many parts are becoming unavailable new..and when you need them, Ebay may become a "life sa...

Re: Clutch Fluid?

550 clutch is cable operated. I was just puzzled by the question and still am, unless it was about the brakes.

Re: Clutch Fluid?

Clutch Fluid??? What are we talking about?? As far as I knew, the clutch fluid (cooling media) in the 750 and 550 clutches is engine oil, and it is operated by cable, which may require some light oil lube, but what else? What am I missing?? ..............Was the question about BRAKE fluid?? The answ...

Re: Idle mix setting on 750 C1

Before I switched to manual cam chain tensioner for maintenance reasons, I used 1/2 of a tweezer's leg. .................actually, I still use it, even though the inconvenience disappeared with the manual tensioner.

Re: Use of choke

I know what you mean,..... when cold sounds a bit rattily (no water jacket to muffle it),....... but I'd rather face any estrange new noise before starting to move. The ear plugs are really to minimize any damage of wind noise, but they do make the engine sound a lot 'smoother', as everything is mor...

Re: Use of choke

Freddy, that's good information. OK, nothing is happening here so I'll write some....I'll relate my experience on this, and of course, not all bikes, even same models are exactly same. As well known, the CVK32s have enrichening plungers, not 'chokes' as in choking the air. For many years I considere...

Re: 1100 slipping clutch

To inspect/change disks and springs, you don't need to 'open the engine'. It is one of the easiest things to do, however the 1100 has a hydraulically operated clutch, and this is also another system which may require some maintenance.

Re: Zr 550 stator cover oil leak

OK, no need to order seals. The microfiche may not show it, but the 750 seals also seem to have the ridge. Searching by part numbers on Ebay, there are some available with pictures and seem to be same type as 550, thus forget what I said. They simply looked smooth-lip on the diagrams.

Re: Zr 550 stator cover oil leak

.......but to hugojose do you mean the engine cassing have no place to put a c clip in the cassing or no lip on the seal on the 750 s ,thanks david David, I suppose your question relates to the statement I made about the 750 not having the ridge on the crank seal. No, I do not know for sure as I ha...

Re: Zr 550 stator cover oil leak

Good for you. In my opinion, you have little to lose, face with the possibility of splitting the engine. If it does not work it may leak again, but you were already there with the old seal, and hopefully, it will hold. Interestingly, the 750 crank seal does not seem to have the ridge on the diagrams...
