Re: Starter Clutch Replacement
Yes, I have done it. Can be done with engine in frame.......is done through the oil pan opening. Exhaust pipes, oil pan, transmission clutch, and oil pump all come out. Secondary shaft comes out from left to right, and starter clutch drops on your hand. Same if engine was on a bench, except you work...

Re: Fuel Tap Issue?
The tap has two filters on top, inside the tank. One taller than the other one, 'On" is the taller one, the so called 'reserve' is short one. There is not 'reserve' per see, the taller filter simply starts sucking air when fuel is bellow it. "On" means you only have the top 2/3 of the...

Re: d1 front sprocket torque values
I have a 750 C1, and have a Kawasaki factory manual, and also a Haynes covering the 750/550 w/out saying years. Yes, the Kawasaki manuals says it is 98 NM or 75ft-lbs for the front sprocket nut. The Haynes says it is 125 NM or 92 lb ft. Personally, I think is a mistake. Don't see any reason as to wh...

Re: First gear 'CLUNK'
I have changed all three rubber dampers on the drive line; Secondary shaft, clutch basket, and rear hub. All of them were hardened, shrunk, and allowing play. These bikes are getting old, and there is no doubt in my mind, that close to 100% owners checking these will find play. ..The dampers in the ...

Re: Ht Ignition question
If the coils and wires are stock from factory. The coils have pointed needles in the recesses (holes for the cables). Under the plastic nuts on the wires are plastic ferrules inside (compressing rings), which compresses and pushes the cable insulation against the coils needles when the nuts are tigh...

Re: headlight
As far as I know, Kawasaki triggers the headlight from one of the stator phases, to a relay in the fuse box. 750 Zephyr is like that, so headlamp comes on only after the engine catches. Have a Suzuki that turns the headlamp on with ignition, but engaging the starter interrupts power to it. Both syst...

Re: brake pistons
I personally wouldn't be concerned about, as long as bike is braking fine. The big piston has more area, therefore it gets more force applied for same hydraulic pressure, as is what does most of the work. .....another thing is whether pistons were cleaned when new pads were installed. They get corro...

The mirror mountings and bar clamps are asymmetrical from factory, at different angles, and different heights.. It is the way they are.

No, you are not. Was only the wrong word.
If you only knew mechanical mistakes I've made. Anyway, Freddy's answer still holds and thanks for clearing that up.
