Re: Help me fix my side stand?
owahooo....somebody showed a sign of life in this forum after over a month. Yes, you could do the washers you are thinking and would probably be OK, but I'd feel insecure when sitting the bike. Unless you think there is enough material left. I presume this a 550. If so, is the bracket removable from...

Re: US Emissions Equipment Removal Question
Technically, the system simply takes fresh air from BEFORE the engine and puts it into the exhaust right AFTER the engine, effectively bypassing it. So is basically an "exhaust treating" system. Other than reducing clutter, it does not affect performance in anyways, neither positively nor ...

Re: Engine revving up to 8 grand and staying stuck there for
Overall, it sounds like at least the idle circuit is too rich....to begin . ....and 4.5 turns out sounds like about the limit. You should be around 2 1/2.... or at least start there. Was this bike running well enough before?.......when you said 'rebuilt' carburator and put 'new stuff'. What exactly ...

Re: Another Startup Diagnosis (w/Video)
The choke (enrichener) lever does not hold because the friction pad inside is worn out, or disintegrated with age. They don't sell that part. but it is possible to fabricate your own. Like Shedman said on the noise. Cam chain tensioner, valve clearance. Hard to tell w/out being near the bike. I'd ma...

Re: fuel problem with 1 carburettor
Assuming your don't have some build-up in the air passagages.......the fuel level controlled by the float also determines how rich or lean. Fuel level could be checked by clear tubing with carbs in bike.

Re: Regulator Rectifier on ZR1100
Talltim. Whereas the 750/550 Zephyrs had true older KZ/Z air cooled engines dating back to the late '70s, the 1100 was "backengineered" into air cooling from the newer Kawi 90's liquid cooled engines. The Zephyr's were supposed to be 'retros', but the original Z900/1000/1100 air cooled eng...

Re: Regulator Rectifier on ZR1100
Is the battery new, so you can rule it out? I don't have a 1100, but glancing at the microfiches, the R/R looks to be in two pieces in the Alternator (generator) compartment, and is not cheap(OEM); those are in $USD. ...oh god, how complicated it looks compared to the 750/550.............No offense,...

Re: Starter Clutch Replacement
Sorry you are letting go. and I assume you are talking about the 750/550 on this subject. The 1100 is an entirely different kind of animal. Like I said, this job does not require engine out, perfectly doable with it in the frame, but you if are into taking engine out is by choice....other than the b...
