Re-built the forks today, all went smoothly with my home made holding tool working perfectly They were pretty clean inside and the oil fairly clear (although that has been changed when the springs were uprated).

I polished the lower legs with "Scotchbrite" cleaning pads which gives a sort of factory brushed finish rather than a brightly polished look. well pleased with how they look and feel

Looking good Eddie, keep up the good work and when you've finished can I pop my forks over to you for a refurb & polish

Working on the clocks at the mo, I've got two sets plus what remains of my originals so should be able to make a good set out of them all. One set is in KMH and has some damage but did have working bulbs which was handy!. The right set which are the ones i am using are in good shape but the mileage is showing 46k, whereas my bike had 39k showing, I know its only 7000 miles difference but that would always annoy me every time I looked at it, so I'm going to swap the mileage over which is actually a very simple job of exchanging the mileage barrels over*
* the mileage barrel is a push fit so easy to swap cheers for now eddie

yeh the lower legs came up good, going to coat them or just a quick re-scotchbright every now and then ?

I'm not going to re-coat them, will just redo them as and when as it's so easy. I've always thought lacquering fork legs is not great as they pick up so many stone chips.

I've got the clocks finished and mounted, the mileage barrel swapped over easy and I bench tested it with my drill before fitting it and was quite impressed with my drill speed!!!
I'm pleased with how they turned out, there are some marks on the chrome covers but barely noticeable to be fair. Personally I think they are some of the nicest clocks fitted to a bike
I'm working on the front wheel now, putting new bearings in, rebuilt the speedo drive, and will give it all a good polish up and scotcbrite. The discs are only just above the minimum thickness but should be ok for a bit longer , Caliper rebuild next up

Cracking on well then eddie And very impressed with the drill speed, whats that 90MPH?
I was going to say its a shame that the cold stuff is on the way but on the other hand it should be good for the spring, for me i'm thinking that my bike will be moving into the plastic bag real soon, I don't think that we have much left of the warm stuff now, may be by the end of the month

Yep winter is deffo setting in now, will be whacking the shed heating on very soon . Not much to update on at the moment, I've got the front wheel all polished up and fitted with new bearings and seals installed. I've started stripping and re-building the master cylinders and also picked up some stainless braided brake hose to replace my damaged brake lines and luckily my fittings (Goodridge) are the re useable type so should be able to make up a new set easily . I'll put up some pics when I do them
