Hi Bike just back from new camshafts and carbs sorting. Engine seems to be red hot on the crankcases. Anybody know what temp bike should run at. Maybe the cooler is blocked Cheers BL.

hi this sounds like there is some history with this bike ,can we have some back ground to it how many miles on itand why it had new cams etc if we read freddy history of these motors they can cover a few miles if they are looked after .when you say its runs hot I don't know what the temperature should be I have seen a hand held thermal gauge that you just point at a engine part to get a accurate reading im sure any bike shop could tell you what it should be ,where are you ,david

Hi done 48k miles, had a couple of flat spots, carbs balanced b ut still the same . Checked camshafts and wear on lobes, so new were fitted with new cam chain. Flat spots better but still around 3k and 6k revs. It ended up with 105 size jets in all carbs. Cured the flat spots but doesnt idle nice. Temp was about 85c but crankcases still red hot after 1 hour stood. Thinking of removing the oil cooler incase of blockage
