750four, that is a real bummer. Everything happens for a reason. May be it will turn out better than you hoped for.

thank you Kenny - you're probably right, and at my age and a few house moves behind me, you'd think I'd have worked all this out by now. Still, its bollox to Rightmove for now, and at least the workshop here is operational, so I've spent a couple of hours just getting the hands grubby fixing an old z900 fuel tap this afternoon - ahh, simple pleasures!

I have been itching for a ride for over a month. It has been cold and snowy, freezing at night and thawing during the day. Today, the sun came out strong, temperature climbed to a eventual 10C. Texted my brother and a friend, three of us went for a 150km ride.
Once I remembered to set the choke, the Zephyr started up happily. We cruised up to a local dam, the view was spectacular. The reservoir was unusually low, may be it will fill up once the mountains shed their snow caps. Otherwise, it will be restricted water-use all summer again.
The snow on the roadside didn’t deter us a bit. We went to our favourite twisties and had a fun time. We stayed close to the centre line to avoid sand and debris. That’s typical early spring riding. Can’t wait till summer, we have many motorcycle road trips planned this year. We got home just after 4pm and warmed up with a nice glass of red wine.

Such a lovely place - many years now since I last visited; really should put it back on the bucket list. You're a lucky lad, ZR :)

Spring is here. I could smell fresh manure when I rode up to the country side a couple days ago. But today, the Zephyr needed some TLC after a long winter of salty road and grime. I washed and waxed the little traveller. I think it still looks pretty good for a 27 year old bike.
