Old lurker going new poster

Post by Dann »

Hello everyone,

I am from Romania and bought a Zephyr a year ago. It was in a very VERY poor condition, but I wanted to make it roadworthy, as I consider the Zephyr to be a nice looking bike. Changed the top of the engine with valves (imported from a breaker in Great Britain), new timing chain, adjusted carburetors, adjusted valves, done clutch maintenance, changed cables, fluids, spark plugs, rear tire, brake pads, repaired 4 oil leaking spots including engine cover welding, gas tank welding (gas was leaking all over), new wheel bearings, fork service (need to do it again, one leg is leaking again) and replaced completely the rear suspension. Chain and sprockets were replaced just before I bought it. And by the looks of it I am just at the beginning with the repairs :)

It looks bad, needs paint redone, plastics welding (the piece under the seat is broken) but runs great and it's back on the road.
