Thank you. I can't believe that Kaw did a one-off on the gears. There has to be parts out there.

Depending on what country you are in. I had my ZR 1100 trans undercut no replacement parts necessary. I am in the United States.

Can I ask how other 1100 owners feel about this gearbox problem, does it happen at any time or mega miles ? Is the Factory Pro-Fix kit a must as soon as..?

If you do end up with a problem that means splitting the crankcases and it could have been avoided, you're not gonna be happy!!

Unfortunately if its slipping out then the damage is already done. The problem of it coming out of gear occurs when the gear selection cassette gets damaged and allows the forks to move. In the Zephyr 1100's case there is a corner in one of the channels that breaks away. Thats an engine out job :-/

When I did mine I was fortunate enough to find a second hand replacement cassette that came with a complete box and was in better shape than mine. Fitted the factory pro kit at the same time.
