1100 shift drum pin placement

Post by s_in_fl »

Okay, so I've climbed back into the reassembly of my engine. It's only been a few years :)

In addition to having a question about the orientation of the shift forks (see other thread) I have a question about the reassembly of the shift drum neutral switch plate. Once again the manual is not really helpful, nor are the pictures I took during disassembly.

In which position (the blue numbers) does the long pin get installed? I've tried to label the parts that I believe will help with visual orientation.

Thanks in advance. I'm glad to see the forum is going strong still.

Thanks again Jrkk.
I had difficulty reconciling the position of that pin with the neutral detent. I did get it sorted and felt rather foolish for making it harder than it was.
My goal is to be riding sometime this summer.
