my Zephyr 550 surprised me this morning - while saddling up to work saw that large oil spot in the garage below the left shock absorber.

Thought of getting these ones https://www.louis.be/artikel/yss-schokd ... r=10046203 while finding the time to refurbish the old ones (I keep all my original parts).

Can anyone advice on this? Thanks ;)

I found some nice information and photos here:
https://www.gazzz-garage.com/2016/06/30 ... ck-part-1/
thought it could be useful for the Zephyrs

I'm also attaching a picture of my shock leak - I guess my riding style is too hard for my old Zephyr (or I'm too heavy :D )

No advice I'm afraid, but I have a feeling my rear shocks are going to need attention too soon.

I actually really quite like the style of the original shocks so I'm debating servicing them like Gazz garage did, but I know I'll just end up replacing them.

Is it constantly leaking now for you?

yes. I made two tests: 1st did a tour around then back to garage and the next morning the pool; 2nd clean up and left it for a day - same story.

Got the YSS shocks this week will replace then refurbish the originals.

Please post your experience with refurbishing them. We have Gazzz Garage’s great tutorial, but attempting some of it myself I felt like maybe there was some information left out.

I had my 750 shocks refurbished by Brook suspension. Pleased with the result. Back end feels planted & rides the bumps well.

It wasn't particularly cheap, but an option if you don't fancy doing it yourself.

They also sell YSS.
