I should have bought the Haynes instead of the Kawasaki OEM maual. The OEM is just way above my skill level. I think I'll order the Haynes tomorrow.

I would like to put some closures on this topic. I bought a replacement neutral light bulb from Kawasaki. The bulb is very small, but quite sturdy. Took the instrument panel off. Couldn't pull the bulb holder out of the panel, so I used a needle nose pliers to pull the old bulb out. It didn't break. I inserted new bulb with the pliers and voila, it popped right in. I noticed the new bulb seated deeper than the old bulb. I suspect that there was nothing wrong with old bulb, it just worked loose. Button everything back up. The neutral light works as intended. I am a happy camper.
Thank you for all your inputs and instructions. Without them, I wouldn't have the self confidence to do this job on my own.

PS. I also ordered a Haynes manual for future use.
