...they were considered very good 30 years ago, the period these bikes were made, and very reliable even for today's standard, but of course, compared with HID or LEDs of today they look....well, pale.
………………...I have moved to LEDs, but not because ever failed, but because LEDs consumes so little current.

Have you replaced the entire headlight unit, or just changed the "bulb"?

LED's are undoubtedly a lot brighter, especially if you do a lot of night time commuting, but they don't always look right on an 'older' bike .
