550 Viton Clutch Dampers

Post by Turbosteve »

Thanks to all those who have purchased my 750 Viton clutch dampers.

550 Viton Dampers are pictured on the left. 750 on the right.

I recently added Viton dampers for the 550. They are in stock and available for shipping.

Cost is $45 US per set of six. US shipping is $7.15 via Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box. This includes tracking and insurance.

Canada: $24.95 US for PMSFRB. $9.50 for parcel post.

Overseas shipping (which I would assume is most of you) is either $14 US for economy (They say two weeks, but it can take up to a month or more), or $33.95 for Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box (6 - 10 business days).

If you'd like to order a set or two do the math and PayPal the appropriate funds to turbosteve84 “at” verizon.net (the “at,” of course, is “@”). Note that if you choose PMSFRB I can fit up to five sets in a box.

Then send me your email address so I can contact you directly.

Thanks again,
Steve

Thanks Steve! These are legit!

I've got a set in the basket in my 550, and I have a spare basket that I've rebuilt with a set.

Here is what the old ones look like compared to the new:

Gave the basket a light dressing to smooth out the notches a little:

You can see the old rivet holes in the basket have been threaded for a metric stainless fastener:

I have used turbosteve's 750 dampers in the past and was more than satisfied with the product and how much it improves drivability. So I am grateful he is finally offering 550 ones as well.
So I bought a set and rebuilt the spare clutch basket for my zr550. Hopefully I can get time this fall to put it in the bike before winter arrives.

That looks like really good work Larry and Daft,

I have Steve’s replacement rubbers for fitting to my 750 sometime over the winter.

The only aspect of the job that concerns me is getting the threads straight. I have a cheapo Aldi pillar drill which should be good enough to drill straight.

Any tips on tapping methods or anything else on the job?

Cheers,

Kevin

I put the tap in my drill press and just spun the chuck by hand.

I am adding this information link to the GPz550 Forum as well. Just sent Steve a payment for a set, as I am a believer. :D
