Stabiliser

Post by TerryG »

On retirement I was toying with the idea of a new bike after many years of only having four wheels. My wife wasn't too keen so I compromised and bought a bike with stabilisers lol. I've got a 1995 550 Zephyr that's been converted to a trike. It's not the fastest bike on the block but have to admit it really is a lot of fun.
I'll post pictures if anyone is interested.

the tank has been replaced with a slightly bigger one and apart from the rear end, I think everything else is pretty standard.
It's not the most comfortable ride in the world, a new seat might help.
It cruises nicely at motorway speeds easily and acceleration is ok.

Sadly, my wife still isn't keen on the idea of riding pillion so my run outs have all been fairly local. I've had it since last April and yesterday I finally got the milometer passed the thousand miles. There's been no problems with anything except putting it into first gear, it seems to jump in to gear pretty suddenly and with a 'clunk' when it's been left overnight. I can cope with that as long as it doesn't develop into anything too serious.
Anyone fancy a run in mid-Wales?
Oh, Happy New Year everyone.
