Front fork alternative

Post by neilmccallum »

I would like to change the front suspension of my 94 1100.

Is there a bike out there that carries the same length & diameter fork with better performance?

there's not really an other Fork that fit's P&P .... problem is the 1100 has with 810mm one of the longest forks ever built (except Cutom/Choppers ;))

Öhlins has some 43mm with 800mm (-10mm ??), ZRX 1100/1200 also fits with some Modifications (760mm over all). Or you put a cartridge in the Stock fork - thats what i have done.

As 750R said, getting cartridges fitted to your existing forks eg. AK20's would be both the best and cheapest option. Fitting a fork brace would also largely address the only real advantage of UDF's which is less flex.

The cheapest significant upgrade option is fit Cartridge Emulators. They do work pretty well, but can be REALLY fiddly and take a lot of trial and error to get right. If you had a 750 I could just tell you the setup that will work.
