Yes I have used the vinegar option, messy and tricky but a complete success. Rrmove filler cap, fuel tap and level sensor, blank off and fit temp bung in filler, fill to top with vinegar, add drawing pins and make sure filled to brim as any air pockets corrode like hell. Shake daily for 1 week and keep topping up vinegar as level keeps dropping. Do not spill vinegar on paintwork as it damages finish. Mine was like new inside once I did the bicarb bit followed by swill with clean fuel and weeks getting all the drawing pins out, I also chipped the paint pn the tank and ended up having a respray but cheaper than a new tank, look at the tesult in the showroom

My CB650 tank before using Deoxit, it is in powder form and you mix it with hot water. It doesn't affect paint at all and is perfectly safe to pour down the drain afterwards.

My tank after filling with Deoxit for 12 hours, I should have left it for 24 but I was well happy with the result.
Flushed out with lots of water then old petrol, no rust has appeared on the bare metal where I never fully filled the tank with gas three months ago. Link below pictures for the website.
