Zephyr 1100 Exhaust Question

Post by monsterc1 »

I have seen some older bikes use newer bikes stock exhaust for an upgrade. You can normally pick them up for cheep. One example is using ZR7 exhaust on the Zepher 750s. That said i haven't been able to track down the same kind of thing for a 1100. I know the ZR7 exhaust wont work on the 1100 because of the difference in header pipe size. I found that out the hard way. That should have been obvious given the different engine size I guess. I have been looking at some different things like the z900 exhaust as a possibility. Has anyone had any experience with this? Should I just stick with stock? Or try to track down some aftermarket setup?

There is not thing wrong with the bikes stock exhaust besides some rusty parts. I'm just interested in finding out what people have done or tried. I'm rebuilding a 92 1100 my brother burnt down and looking for good ideas as I go.

I have been trying to get a set of chromed four into four pipes to fit my 1992 ZR1100, I've sent out numerous emails, fingers crossed I get a positive reply as my standard pipes are starting to get rust in them.
I will let you know if I get positive feedback.

The shipping is almost as much as the exhausts though!

That’s what’s put me off, then the custom charges, I got a front mudguard and the charges were around £40 alone
