Added Hand Guards

Post by ZR468 »

Winter here in Canada, we are in the west coast and still riding. Just added a set of hand guards to keep the cold wind off the hands. I have heated jackets. But cannot add heated grip as well. The ZR750 cannot handle the wattage draw for both.

Well I'm certainly not riding my bike now with temperatures around freezing point. Not just because of the cold but because of all the salt they put on the rode which corrodes the bike big time. But my compliments for riding your bike under those conditions :P

Went out for a 66km ride a couple days ago. 7degreeC and partly sunny, the road was dry, no salt yet. Just a joy to ride the ZR, zipping through the traffic smartly. Didn't see any other bike on the road and that was unusual.
The new hand guards kept the wind off, but still the fingers were cold. Had to warm them up on the cylinder while stopped at the traffic lights. Just bought some glove liners, may be that will help.

These are what you need, I call them handlebar muffs. Purchased from China less than $15. Waterproof/windproof and lined inside. I only wear summer perforated gloves inside them on colder days, 7C no problem. Must admit by 0 or below I talk nice to the wife and borrow the car. I have heated grips as well but never use them.

I saw those handle bar muffs in China. They are very popular on scooters. I should check them out on eBay.
