750four, I had a Red GT185 when I was a spotty yoof. Me & a friend went halves on it for the grand sum of £60.

If you're interested in selling yours for £60, I'll have it off you. :D

a dry afternoon, so I took a break from rebuilding GT250 carburettors and took the Zephyr up to the local coffee shop. I think the bike is pining for more regular use, def had a slight misfire on 1 for the first few minutes, but seemed to settle down and clear once the bike had done a few miles. Will be out again asap, but doesn't look like it will be before Thursday now. :(

Yesterday I replaced the clutch rod, metal fatigue I guess, it just snapped where it connects to the actuating arm, new gasket, job done :) Removed transmission cover, scrubbed off years of baked on crap, replaced both oil seals because of slight leak on the gear lever seal, new gasket, job done :) Found a slight nick in the neutral light wire, neutral light would come on in gear when the engine got warm, fixed that with various sizes of heat shrink tubing, job done :) To do list today is to replace the clutch switch, put engine oil in and see if she's in the mood for starting :x I've still got the not wanting to start problem that seems to be intermittent, giving me a right bloody headache

Zephyr went out today as it was dry and sunny (bloody cold, mind!), and then it was time to take 'Dad of Zeph' :!: for a spin - coffee shop stop, lots of old boys ooh-ing and ahh-ing and 'had one of those back in the days' - all good fun, and always nice to chat bikes with others. :)

Well guys, I found the cause of my intermittent starting, the jets were bunged with some kind of silicon crap that a PO had used on the float bowl gaskets, it had come loose and was floating about inside the carbs. It was the clear stuff that you use in bathrooms etc and was damn near impossible to see, even when I drained the float bowls into a jug.
I stripped and ultrasonically cleaned the carbs and rebuilt them with new gaskets and she fired up on all four. Happy Days!

Spring is here. Day light saving time starts today, 15C and sunny. Took the Zypher out for a 220km ride with my brother. Did the local triple loops. So nice to open up that throttle after a long wet winter.

Bought some stuff to do the dérusting job later this week. Hopefully followed with the tanksealer treatment soon after. Spring is coming, yes!
