Went to the CMM Stafford Show today. Surprisingly, I didn't see a single Zephyr on display - too recent age-wise, perhaps? Weather was rubbish, so mooching around outside wasn't such a good idea. Some real shite up for sale, too, in the guise of 'buy 'em as crap, sell 'em as antiques' Still, where there's muck, there's brass ..

Inside the show hall was better, apart from the perennial 'fact' that those show bikes NEVER looked as good as that when they were brand new in the shop! Still, I do like going to Stafford, if only to get a shot of 'enthusiasm' for the spanner-twirling season ahead.

wow - here we are in mid-November and still got good enough weather to take the bikes out :) made the most of it and gave the 1100 a run - will do the same with the 750 tomorrow if it stays dry. Gonna be cold though, apparently.

Beautiful sunny day today, amazing for December. My brother and I rode up into the mountain for a 200km ride, no snow yet, but the temperature dipped to 3C at places. The Zephyr ran flawlessly. Here are a couple pics, one is a view of Vancouver Harbour from high up.

Sorry my scenic view isn't as impressive as the Vancouver skyline :( , however the ride today was probably enjoyed in much the same way :D .

Dry, sunny but a bit colder than of late. Roads were greasy, and around this way its all about roadworks and the associated shitty mess they create and never clear up. You really cannot ease up on the concentration, even for a moment.

(the hot coffee was welcome, though ;) )

Bike is looking lovely there 750four, and I agree there is something nice about going out on a crisp dry winters day and having a great ride, and if there's a hot drink or warm pub at the end then all the better :D :D . To be honest I prefer riding in the colder months, as opposed to sweating buckets in scorching heat where it's only comfortable on a bike if your moving at a fair rate

....only trouble is salty roads and zephyrs don't mix!!

Tell me about it ! Still, keeping them clean and shiny is part of the pleasure of owning a Zephyr, I suppose.

I'm just watching the forecast to see if there's going to be another chance to wheel something out of the garage and go for a ride without it getting covered in crud, grit and salt. Looks like you'll get your wish for cold dry conditions today - better wheel your bike out and get going! :)

I would love to wheel out my Zephyr but as you can see from my build thread on here (eddie's 1100 Rebuild) ....that might be a bit difficult as it's only got one wheel at the moment!!!!

Can't wait to ride it again, although I will have to avoid the salty roads after all my hard work :) :)

cheers eddie

It has been raining for days. The Zephyr is itching to go out. Finally, there is a break this afternoon. Went out for a short 50km ride. So nice to just ride and feel the bike leaning around the corners. The Zephyr ran flawlessly.
The street weren't that busy. I guess most people were in the mall shopping. It is 9C and grey. I went to my favourite shoreline and pondered.
The newly installed 4" high handle bar riser felt good, but didn't quite meet all my expectations. I realized now that I didn't need the handle bar higher, I needed it closer to me. But, no less, it relieved the tension on back, neck and hip. I think I will ride it as is for a while before trying to tinker more. It was a nice afternoon.
