expired MOT and insurance companies

Hi all , my bike MOT runs out next week and the government have said we get a 6 month extension . I need to carry on using it as key worker, but does anyone know if we have to inform our insurance companies and let them know its ran out and you're using it on the extension ? As most insurance policies don't cover you once its ran out. cheers

Sorry Ivor, I don't have an answer but that is a very valid point that nobody else has mentioned. Mine ran out in November but I have to find somewhere that will do an MOT as vehicles only get an extension if the MOT ran out after March 30th.
I would suggest you ring your Insurance before you ride it with no MOT just to cover yourself.
