Just bought this last week. First Zephyr and first 'naked' bike (last bike was a ZZR600).
I've not ridden for 12+ years so it's great to be back on two wheels.
Big Blue
Re: Big Blue
As promised the standard shock length fully extended is 345 mm center to center. Just stick it up on the center stand, dead easy to measure with no muffler on one side. Worth checking I reckon.Adam wrote:
Notice the top coils of the rear shock in the picture, nearly coil bound just from the weight of the bike. At least that's how it looks to me in the photo. Put it on the side stand and sit backwards on the bike and stand it up balancing the bike but with you full weight on the seat. Now look at those top coils (the reason for sitting backward). I'll bet they are compressed up as flat as a pile of stacked pancakes (doing nothing). A set of heavier springs will make a world of difference for only about US$100. Easy to change yourself, use a pair of ratchet straps as a spring compressor.
I trust you'll take these comments in the spirit intended, not to pick faults with your new purchases, but to point out things that will make your new ride all that much more enjoyable. I think the ZR750 is a great bike when set up right.
