ZRX1100 swing arm

Post by pete12000 »

Has anyone else fitted a ZRX1100 swing arm to their Zephyr? The guy I've spoken to said it made his bike around 50mm shorter and around 50mm higher, any thoughts? thanks

As you asked for thoughts .... that level of alteration to the geometry must noticeably change the bikes handling characteristics. Now whether or not that's a desirable or undesirable change is a different question. But it will change, that's got to be a near certainty. Shorter wheelbase and significantly less front rake, my guess is its certain to turn a LOT quicker at the expense of being less stable in a straight line to road imperfections etc.

I'd be considering a steering dampener as part of the change if that's what you decide. May not be necessary, but could be VERY frightening experience to discover one is needed. A tank slapper at high speed is an experience you never forget.

I have a ZRX400 swingarm to install on the 750
I will measure the overall lengths
I think the difference between the 400 and 1100 swingarm is the location of the torque arm which connects the rear calliper. The Zephyr 750 and ZRX400 have rear calliper on top of the disc while the ZRX1100 has calliper at the underside of the disc
