I connected clear tube to bowl drain to see fuel level and on prime and it went well above the bowl height.

Re: Firing on three cylinders puzzle.
The prime is only supposed to be used to fill the carbs after they have been drained/rebuilt/removed etc. It bypasses the vacuum valve thingy in the tap, have you had the tap on prime while you've been running the bike?
Re: Firing on three cylinders puzzle.
No , I put it on prime whilst looking for fault. I Found the culprit.
Pin hanging out of post.
All the other pins were loose and I was able to pull them out with my fingers. Not good.
Not sure how to get an interference fit. Crimping post looks dodgy. Knurling pin?
Has anyone else had this?

I'm glad you found the problem Heron and it isn't going to be expensive. What about blue Loctite threadlock? It is supposed to be fuel proof if allowed to cure properly, around six hours from what I read on the interweb.
Re: Firing on three cylinders puzzle.
Just had another thought Heron, don't the float bowls on the 1100 have something to stop the pins coming out? Its been a while since I've been inside my own carbs but I'm sure they are engineered so that the pins can't come out unless the bowl is removed.
Re: Firing on three cylinders puzzle.
Your absolutely right . Retaining lugs are in the bowl, so it must have shaken off when I removed the bowl.
Just shined torch down hole and there was a large piece of swarf . That would keep the jet from closing .
